I made the cuffs using 3mm craft foam which I covered with gold PVC vinyl. I sewed in the seams to make the segments.

Cardboard or lamintated tagboard might work well as a structural material...

It was made from thick craft foam which I covered with vinyl. (PVC vinyl.) I have really got to do a tutorial about that soon....

yep i was going to make it like have a card bor or some other smooth surface as the base item and use modeling clay to finish it of the designs and make it out of plastic or a type of latex
